St. Augustine School
“Following the way, the truth and the life of Christ”
October 20, 2017
Dear St. Augustine Family,
Thank you to Michelle Pellegrino and her volunteers for another successful book fair this past week. Thank you for all who donated so that teachers could purchase books for their classrooms.
Thank you once again for all those students who made the sacrifice to attend the monthly 7am Mass Club. We had a great crowd again. I am always amazed by the continued determination the students make to attend the early time for the Mass.
The fall STAR math and reading assessment results will be going home in the family envelope on Tuesday, for grades two through eight. Inside the family envelope, you will find an envelope addressed to you as parent with a math and reading assessment inside. The one exception being that grade two has only a reading assessment in their envelope. When the January testing is administered, Grade 1 will take part in an early literacy test. A good thing to remember is that this is just one form of assessment. Some students exceed in classroom expectations even though the numbers on tests will not always reflect that.
Trunk or Treat
Tomorrow from 1-3pm our Home & School is having their second annual Trunk or Treat event in our school parking lot. It is a safe way to receive some candy and a great time to meet as a school family. Hope to see you there!
Reminder that khaki pants are allowed for girls only from November 20th until March 15th. I expanded that window this year and will always monitor the trends of cold temperatures, and if needed, change those dates.
Until next week… God Bless,
Mr. Andrew Brassard
