St. Augustine School
“Following the way, the truth and the life of Christ”
October 27, 2017
Dear St. Augustine Family,
Congratulations to our two fall sports’ teams. Both our cross country and tennis teams had successful seasons. Some of the cross country team members made their annual trip to the Manhattan race and finished very high in the rankings. I would like to thank Richard Bouthillette, Tim Coffey, and their coaching staff for all the work they put in with their teams beginning with the summer practices and throughout their fall schedules.
Ah, picture day! Though very busy at times, we do get through it with the help of Mrs. Varone and the photographers from Chestnut Hill. There is a lot of time between when pictures are taken in the fall until the time they appear in the yearbook. It is amazing how much students’ faces will look more grown up when we look back at the pictures that were taken this week.
Even though I enjoyed the first couple of months teaching religion to the seventh graders, it was great to see Sister Dorothy return to her usual duties of administering the faith to her students. Sister’s years of experience educating young minds and her dedication to her faith have been a benefit to St. Augustine Parish and School for many years. We welcome you back, Sister Dot!
The Early Childhood Team made ninety-seven cards and collected 2,419 snack items for Operation Holiday Cheer. This project gave us the opportunity to help The Rhode Island Blue Star Moms (proud parents of children serving in the United States military) to assemble care packages.
Until next week… God Bless,
Mr. Andrew Brassard
